I'm Top Diva! Don't mess with my stuff!
OMG! OMG!  Run! Run! Bark! Bark!  Weeeee have company!
Last night Papi's son (in the Coast Guard - whatever that is - but Papi think's its a big deal - sooo- I LOVE IT!)  and his wife came in with their owners - Tonka and Whiskey.  Now these 2 are around Big Sis's size.  Tonka is a yellow Lab and Whiskey is a chocolate Lab.  They are a bit older than Moi - but still young enough to be excited, run around, and want to play.  Unfortunately they kowtow to Papi's son and spouse - I mean OMG!  What the heck is "Stay"!  I mean, I've heard it - but what is it?  And little sis is excited too!  Ginger and I had to wrestle and work out a lot of nervous energy before we settled down for the night.  But today is a new day - and we'll have to see what happens.  I need to run and reinforce my position as head Diva in this household.
Hugs, Kisses and Belly Rubs for all!

Yum! Yum! Eat 'Um Up!

Hello my Dah-lings!  Welcome back to another Dish from the Diva!  Lots of going ons!  First, being ever observant, I've noticed Papi laying in a few grocery items and doing enough things (along with the cooler weather) that tells me its almost time for turkey.  YUMMY!  Lots of goodies for Big Sis (Shaddow) and I - and................... (wait for it)........................(wait for it)...................my New Little Sis!  GINGER!
Okay - technically she's not little.  She's about 9 months old (her birthday is being celebrated as St. Patrick's Day - March 17th) and weighs 12 pounds - eight pounds of which is legs!  I mean, seriously, this little girl is SKINNY and tall.  She's twice as tall as moi!  She's full of energy and loves to run!  As soon as she gets past her first birthday, I'll  think about giving her a little Diva training.  But right now she is just too, too, ....well, Blonde!  Hmmm!  Tall, leggy blonde and could fit in a purse - hope that Hilton bimbo doesn't hear about her!
Now - for those of you that may be interested in her parents (and you know you are out there ) - she is an Italian Greyhound - Chihuahua mix.  And no - I don't know which was which.  It doesn't matter - she is who she is - and is a joy to us all!
Hugs, Kisses, and Belly Rubs for All!

Friday

Sighhhhhhh!

Hello Dear Hearts!  I try, for the most part to keep this little corner of the internet very light hearted.  Howver, on October 29th, my little sis, CoCo, passed away unexpectedly due to a brain/neurologic problem.  It literally broke my heart to see Mummi and Poppi sleepwalking thru the preparations for their (wedding) anniversary getaway.  Poppi brought her back home to lay her to rest on the farm she had come to love and call home in her few short weeks of life.  They did take their little trip though and I think they were better for it.  I PROMISE I'll blog again next week and try to bring a smile to your face.
Rest in Peace little Sis.  I'll miss you!

Monday

Trauma! - Hold the Drama!

Hello my dahlings!  Welcome to another dish from THE DIVA!  The past week was a bit traumatic for my household - but things are getting back to normal.
On Tuesday past L'il Sis left with Mummi in the morning and was gone all day. Mummi came back by herself and I was a bit concerned.   Well, later in the day Mummi came back with this strange looking little creature under her arm.  I went into "home-protection"  mode.  The hackles on my neck came up, and I crouched and growled.  The scent was slightly familiar but with a medicinal tinge.  Then Mummi took off this "cone" and I could see it was CoCo. She was wobbly and groggy and just wanted to sleep.  Turns out she had had the "lady dog" surgery and had a hernia fixed at the same time.   (Pic taken Tuesday evening & is Poppi and Coco-with blue bandage)  That's been nearly a week ago now and she pretty much back to her normal self and zippin' around. She still has some staples in her tummy, but they should be removed later this week.
Big Sis was bummed this week cause Mummi's mom  - who lives a short bit down the road  - was gone most of the past week.  So she didn't have any company at her home away from home.
Been getting cooler here, with some lows hitting the 30's - so it makes it a nice time to be be wearing fur.  But then - I wear fur ALL the time.
Til next time - everyone be safe.  I'm gonna go and play tug of war with L'il Sis.  She loves it and tries hard, but if I just snap my head she goes flying across the room  It's hard for me to believe that I was once (almost) that small.
Hugs, kisses, and belly rubs for all!

Another Dish from Moi - THE Diva

Yesterday was quite nice.  The weather was pleasant and my humans had a few visitors that came and left me a few bellyrubs, but mostly to eye-ball our latest addition - little CoCo.
CoCo is 13 weeks old today - so if she was human she'd be somewhere in the "Terrible Twos"!  I must say that she is keeping Mummi and Papi on their toes (which has given me some chuckles) with her "presents" and chewing EVERYTHING (even me!). (DON'T! - That's not funny!)  She is small and very cute (very much like I was - ahem - and AM!)  She weights 3 pounds at the moment.  But I digress - Papi's former boss (now retired) came by with his missus for a short visit and Miss Christi (who stays with Big Sis and I - and I guess now Little Sis when Mummi & Papi go out of town) came by for her first glimpse of CoCo.  She loves CoCo and, of course, Moi!  Sometimes I have to remind her though, by rolling on my back, that its time for a bellyrub.  Unfortunately, this also has the effect of putting me down where "mini-fang" can bite my ears and nose.  Hopefully she will grow out of this and be potty-trained by the time she hits the 6 month mark (January 20th).  The pic is of CoCo and I in Papi's recliner.  Enjoy!
Hugs, Kisses, and Bellyrubs for all!

I'm So EXCITED..................

I just can't hide it!  (Ugh! Ugh! Shimmy, shimmy, wag, wag!) Whew!  The Pointer Sisters perform it almost as well as moi!  But this has been a big week for me.
Yesterday was my birthday.  Mommi and Papi say I'm two, but hey, we all know about doggie years.  (Multiply by 7).  I'm a Teenager!  I know it ALL!  Just ask me!   I'm really looking forward to this time next year.  I'll  be 21 and fully expect a steak along with a nice Merlot or maybe a port to sip along with it.
Now, even though we all know I enjoy talking about me - that's not the big news of the week. As of the day before my birthday, I have a little sister.  She's so cute!  She could be me - but with longer hair.  And a shorter body.  Okay - she couldn't be me - but she is cute, and she's now my sister.  I've been going out with her and trying to show her the ropes.  Best spots to use and such.  She's learning - but is still young.
For the longest time, Mommi and Papi were calling her "Baby girl" or "Dit" for Diva-In-Training, but they finally decided that her name is "CoCo".  The reasoning is that she is mostly a light brown color (with dashes of black, tan and a little white).
I overheard that her mama is a Spaniel mix and her daddy is a yorkie and they expect her to be 10 to 15 pounds when all grown.  So - I am - and always will be - the big sister.  I'll put some pictures up here of us once I can get Papi busy on it.
Hugs, Kisses and belly rubs for all!

Monday

Well! The Weekend was Different!

Hello my lovelies.  Welcome back for another dish from THE Diva!
Papi is back at work this morning but the last 4 days he spent a lot of time around the old homestead.  He took off work Thursday and Friday afternoons to get a jump on his weekend yard work.  He ended the weekend moving very slowly but he seemed happy.  He told Mumi he got a lot accomplished and he did leave a huge lot of stuff in his "burn pile" to dry out.  Saturday was definitely different.  Papi was up and working outside really early, but in the middle of the morning he stopped. Put his tools up and asked me if I wanted to take a ride.  "Ooooh!" I thought. "Is it tot day already?"  But then he put Big Sis's halter/leash on her and said "You too, big girl."  He put her in the back of his Mini (with the seats folded down) and I rode in the empty front passenger seat.
"What a rush!"  This was the first time Big Sis had gotten to ride in the Coop and she was excited.  She couldn't hop around though cause she'd bump her head.  I was excited, cause I was thinking there would be lots and lots of tots with Shaddow along.  Papi had put the windows down so we could enjoy the mild day and we put our muzzles together to share some girl talk.  Can't tell the help everything- ya know.
But when we got to town we went past the tot spot and to the county co-op.Turned out that one of the student organizations where Papi works (at the Miss. State U. College of Vet Med) was having a "Dog Wash" to raise funds for the Homeward Bound project.  This worthy cause helps homeless animals find loving parents. (LIKE ME!)  So Shaddow and I were treated to a spa day while Papi made a couple of purchases at the co-op.  Then, once we were done, Big sis  and I feeling clean, refreshed and smelling good made the trip back home.  Papi put us in the house - so that our coats got completely dry before we went out to play and he went back to work.
I do want to point out that on Sunday morning (yesterday) I allowed him to take me on our weekly trip to the tot spot . Yummy!  We do this every Sunday morning  and in return I allow him to pick up his newspaper and maybe a quick shopping jaunt while I guard the Coop.
I would like to point out in the picture that big sis is in the bottom right corner and in the middle of the bottom edge you can just see the top of my head and my tail.  Well, that's about all for now - but I would like to encourage everyone to support the Homeward Bound Project.  Not everyone is as lucky as me.
Hugs, kisses and belly rubs for all!
