Noah Called - Be bye in 10 Minutes...........

Hellloooo! The Diva returns.  You may stand once fealty has been shown.
There has been a lot of "ooky" weather here and being rather "vertically challenged", my undercarriage has a tendency to get damp. But let me tell you about this past Friday!
Poppi was running a little later than normal (I found out later he was buying groceries for his mum.) and I was a tad concerned since it was raining hard!  Well, I heard Poppi drive up and a minute later he was at the door.  Obviously I was excited - I hadn't seen him all day.  So once the door opened I was leaping up against his leg excitedly "Poppi, Poppi, I missed youuuuu.....eeewwwww!" This odor assailed my sensitive nose and I RAN away.  I mean, honestly, Do you know how bad "wet human" smells?
Anyway, after he unloaded our things he went and took a hot shower and put on fresh clothes.  He smelled so much better - so I let him share his lap with me.  He was talking with mummi and said it was raining (as his Poppi used to say) like "a horse pi**ing on a flat rock".  Siggghhh!  I know - kind of "rednecky", but I have to love him - after all he's my "grand-poppi".
Til next time - Hugs, Kisses and Belly Rubs for all!

Monday

WORSHIP ME! For I am DOG!

Mwwahhh-Hah-hah-hah!

Ok, so like I was being spoiled the other day (having my belly rubbed - one of my FAVORITE things) and I started daydreaming.  The gist of it being that "everyone" did my bidding.  Then I popped a paw to the nose and went - "Duh! Like that doesn't happen now".  Poppi took some time off last week to celebrate his birthday and we got lots of good play time in.  (He so needs it - ya know?)

That's it for now.
Hugs, kisses and belly rubs for all!

With Heavy heart We must move on...........

I'm not going to say too much about this because if you've interested you can read Poppi's post from last Thursday.  It just saddens me so to have lost Ginger after a few months.  I do my best to cheer up Mommi and Poppi - and they laugh more as time passes - but I can tell they miss her.  As do we all.
Poppi's been talking about his birthday coming up this week.  I'll probably play with him a bit and let him borrow my favorite chew - if he wants.  He keeps talking about getting outside and doing things when the weather gets nice.  I guess its a big deal from him.
This past Friday Poppi started a fire in the big, black box and "girlled" (I think).  Not sure, but it smelled divine, and tasted even better!  Scrumptious.  He and mommi, (and their Mommis) ate and passed Big Sis and I tidbits.  As the sayin' goes, "A Good Time Was Had by ALL!" Yummi!!
I'm glad he "girlled"(?) on Friday, 'cause it rained the next 2 days.  It was "ruff". :-0
That's all I have for now.
Hugs, kisses and belly rubs for ALL!

Thursday

Little Sis is One - & Good Eats!

pfffffftttttt!
Hello my dahlings!  Hope Big Sis's rant in the last entry didn't put you off any.  I know its been nearly a month since the last post but Poppi's been busy with work  and home projects and I didn't want to stress him by asking "Where's my blog?"
We've been getting quite a bit of rain here, and you would think that with my being lower to the ground that I would be getting messier than the other girls. But you would be wrong mi amigo!  Now Big Sis is so big that only her fet get wet, but Gin-Gin, even with long legs gets terribly muddy.  Its because she only had two speeds - stop and full.  When outside, she doesn't run - she rockets.  I guess the wake she thows up is what gets her so messy.  Momi and Poppi keep a towel by the door to wipe us down when we come in.  I must say that Ginger (my Gin-Gin's full name) is learning.  She used to run from the towel, but now stops and waits to be cleaned up.  And Sunday (March 17th) Momi and Poppi say Gin-Gin will celebrate birthday #1.  You go Girl!  At one year old and 14 pounds, she's about as tall and heavy as she will get.  I hate her - no, not really.  She can't be blamed for her ancestory.
Last night Big Sis had found a deer knee joint (about 8 inches long - with the bones above and below the knee where it bent).  She brought it up to the house and the aroma was divine!   All 3 of us would grab it and chew for a while (outside).  Mmmmm! Delish!  Well, when Momi called us in, Gin-Gin tried to bring it in too.  But Momi was having none of it and Big Sis even got in the act, standing in the door and growling at her until she dropped it and came in.  When Poppi got home a little later, she tried again, but hes was having none of it either and threw it in the yard.  He later let Big Sis out (by herself) and she chewed it up.  I guess that was only fair - since she found it.
Ah well - guess I'll go get a bit of kibble (heh!)  kibble - bit - get it? Well, Pooh on you then!
Hugs, kisses and belly rubs for all!

A Voice Crying in the Wilderness

Hello to all y'all waiting on the Little Diva, but I've made her take a back seat for now so that I can bring a bit of reason and clarity to this little corner of insanity.  My name is Shaddow (with 2 d's).  Most of you may know me by the nom-de-plume little Sophie uses: Big S'is.  Now, looking at the picture it is obvious we are not sisters, but we are all 3 adopted (along with Ginger) and share the same domicile.
I would like to stress that I am not old.  I am mature.  Like a fine wine I get better with age.  I will admit to slowing down a bit, after all I will be 12 in August but who doesn't.
Now, for the most part I get along with the younguns and even allow them to share my bed (as you can see).  But there are times.... When they will get rambunctious - racing, and wrasslin', gnashing teeth and growling - til I get tired of it.  Then I do one of two things, depending on what it's like outside.  If its fairly nice I ask to go out and will lay in the sun and just get away for a bit.    If its nasty out (or I just feel like laying about) I will raise my voice and growl.  This usually brings the two little hellions to a quick stop.  I do it so infrequently, that it definitely gets their attention.  Besides, its one of the perks of being the BIG DOG.
For the most part, I enjoy the youngsters and they are mindful of giving me my space.  So I would consider them good girls, and it will even get better as Ginger matures and (hopefully) slows down a bit.
I will return this blog to Sophie for the next entry.  Maybe I'll hijack it again in the future.  It was kind of fun.
Bye!

Tuesday

Duck Season! Wabbit Season! Squirrel Season??!

Hulloooo my Dahlings!  The last couple of weeks have not been too eventful.  Mommi and Papi had a couple of friends over on Sunday evening to watch some event on TV.  I wouldn't have paid too much attention but there were so many goodies out and about that Big Sis, Little Sis and I were on heightened alert for spillage.  For a "Super Bowl" Sunday - my bowl wasn't very super! sigggghhh!
Now there are a few Southern Pecan trees around our yard and after L'il Sis and I go out for our constitutional we like to look around and partake of one or nuts.  Sometimes we'll even grab one or two and take inside to snack on.  Which usually leads to a little lecture about the mess the shell makes.  Oh well, wotcha gonna go?
What's disturbing is Papi has taken to telling anyone that will listen, that L'il Sis and I must be part squirrel.  Really!  OH REALLY!  Talk about squirrelly!  Have you met the man?  Here it is - only into the first week of February - and everytime we go out the man is already planning his yard work (pruning, trimming, grass cutting) schedule - while wearing his heavy coat and a wool cap to keep his head warm.  (Somebody toss him a peanut.)
sigggghhh!  Papi's a good guy and means well, but if Mommi didn't remind him occasionally to just relax and take it easy, he'd work on stuff (and not just for himself) until he physically couldn't work.  He's been better about it since I've been here, but I've heard stories about how he'd work non-stop all day before he had his accident (in 2010).  I keep an eye on him when Mommi's not here and I will say that last year he made a concerted effort to pace himself, take plenty of breaks, and keep hydrated.  Good Job Poppi!
That's about all for now.
Hugs, Kisses and Belly Rubs for all!

It's Soooo Hard to Find Good Help

My Diva Dream for L'il Sis
I know that the "major" holiday season has come and gone and that's why its been over a month since my last entry.  But its not "moi's" fault.  I've asked Papi to type my entry (I'd do it myself - but no thumbs! - Ya know!)  but he's been busy too.  He had to get a new hot water heater (purchased  - he has a nice guy named Jose that does the plumbing for us) and a new (pedestal) sink for one bathroom.  But its all done now and things are finally starting to get back to normal a bit.
Papi's back to work, holiday time off and travel is done for him and Mummi.  The sis's (Shaddow & Ginger)  and I are back to protecting the homestead and our normal lounging about.  The problem lately is that its so wet!  It seems like its been raining steadily for a week and all those puddles are not good when you're built low to the ground like I am.  It's no problem for "stilts-for-legs" Ginger, plus she's so fast she dodges most raindrops.  Heavy Sigh!!  If she would ever gear her motor back a bit, I could teach her to be such a Diva. With her model's carriage, if I could install the "Diva-tude", everyone would be bowing and scraping in her presence.  Ah, well, One can only hope. Everyone have a great day!
Hugs, Kisses, and Belly Rubs for all!
