Happy, Happy, Happy Birthday to Yooooooooooo...................

Big Sis and I
Hi All,  I know I posted last week, but I couldn't let today go by without a HUGE "Happy Birthday" wish to my Big Sis.  Shaddow is a "gen-teel" ole southern lady of 13 years.  She has been the one constant in my life since I joined Poppi and Mummi's household 3+ years ago.  She's showing her age a bit and gets around somewhat slower than she used to (but who doesn't).  She naps quite a bit and though she still plays a bit, doesn't do it that often.  I heard Poppi say that her equivalent in human years would be 91.  A long and full life by any standard, but I know Mummi & Poppi look out for her, keeping and eye on her health, and hoping she has a long and continued pain-free life.
Chiquita (Lil Sis) is still in a little awe of her and stays away for the most part, but even she knows Shaddow is the senior canine in our home.  AnyWAY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY BIG SIS!  Look forward to celebrating your 14th next year.
Hugs, Kisses, and Belly Rubs for all!

Friday

Hmmmmmmm!

Halllloooo my Lovelies!  Let's jump right in.
Poppi and Mummi just got back from a trip to Florida.  The purpose of the trip was two-fold.  To pick up a new (for them) automobile and to visit the latest "pick-of-the-litter" - errrrrr, grandchild.  Judging by the number of photographs taken in the few days they were gone, little Savvy, has got to be a contender for "Best In Show" honors.  Also judging by the disparaging remarks heard, they had probs with the new car.  They still aren't driving it though, as they are waiting on some papers.  (I think they want to get the breed registered. - Do cars have breeds? hmmmmmm?)
Anyway, L'il Sis is all excited by the the L'il car.  She was hopping around and going, "Lookie! Lookie, Sophie! Its a ride that's my size!"  She can definitedly sit in it and look out the Windows.  It's a cinch that Poppi won't be taking this car to do the grocery shopping. heh!
Poppi has a pic of the car on his blog if you want to take a look.
We girls had a nice time while Mummi & Poppi were gone.  Kim came over to stay & take care of us again.  She's a sweet young lady.  I sometimes wish she was our neighbor.  Give us girls an excuse (as if we needed one) to go visiting.  Well - that's about all for the mo.
Hugs, kisses, and belly rubs for all!

Tuesday

Party All the time! Party All the time!

Hallloooo my Dah-lings! Hope all is well in your little corner of the world.
Well, this past week the sis's and I had some fun, but may have crossed the line a tad. (Poppi wasn't mad - but he did seem a bit disappointed - at least until he started laughing.)  So, here's the scoop -
Poppi had gotten free tickets to a couple of concerts and free hotel stay for a few nights out of town (he called them "comps").  So - he, Mummi, and Ms. King (Hiiiii Kimmieeeee!), packed to go out for a few days.  A little bit after they left, us girls started chatting - and as Chiquita would say, "We were, like,  soooo bored".
Our needs (food, water, and clean bathroom pad) had been provided for and we had a few toys and bones, but I mean, after a "hard" nap - what was there to do?
After a few trial and error button pushes, I was able to turn the DirecTv box and the TV on.  Then I was able to get the guide up, scroll down to the music channels, and get some tunes going.
'Quita went, "WoooHooo!  Lets get this party started", and proceeded to bring out all sorts of little snacky things she had stashed.
So after binging on snacks (and leaving crumbs everywhere),  she and I decided it was time to dance.  But to have a dance party, you really need confetti.  So we unrolled a bunch of T.P. and shredded it up so it would poof and float around as we danced.  We cranked up the tunes and was cutting a hot rug (as big sis just kind of rolled her eyes at us - she's an older lady you know).  'Quita was bobbing her head to "What is Love?" , popped her left paw up to her ear, and really getting into the sprinkler dance, when Poppi came in the door, (We had the music loud, so we didn't hear him drive up.)
He swung around looking at us (and the mess) and tried to put his mad face on.  But once he saw L'il Sis "sprinkling" like mad, he cracked up laughing and I knew we were okay.
Chiquita stopped when he laughed, looking embarrassed, and all Poppi's urging couldn't get her to dance anymore.  So Poppi turned the music down, and took the time to clean up the mess, as we got up in the chair to be out of the way.
Later, as Poppi was watching TV and we were sitting with him, he kind of snickered, and said, "You girls really are party animals".
Sigggghhhhh! It may take a while for Chiquita and I to live this one down.  But that's okay, we really had fun.
Hugs, kisses, and belly rubs for all!

Monday

O.M.G. - Not Moi!

Haalllloooo my lovelies!  I'm back with a few more of my meandering musings.
Poppi and Mummi safely returned Saturday from their trip to the "Keystone State". (Look it up! You might learn something!   Heh! - Poppi says that.)  They said that they had a good time, but missed all us gurls. (Big Sis, L'il Sis & Moi.)  Poppi told me about the mountains, the Susquehanna River, and all the interesting area architecture and buildings- yawn.  Now, I will admit to my ears perked up a bit when he mentioned an establishment in the area they visited called "Sophie's Tiki Lounge".  I remember thinking smugly, "Obviously a high class business!"  Poppi even went on to say that said "Tiki Lounge" was a Gentlemen's Club.  "AHA!" I thought, vindication! "Because (according to Wikipedia) - A gentlemen's club is a members-only private club of a type originally set up by and for British upper class men in the 18th century, and popularised by English upper-middle class men and women in the late 19th century and early 20th century.

Sigggghhh!  After Poopi (not a misspelling - I was upset) started snickering  (at my grandiose head nodding), I did a little research.  This place may call itself a "Gentlemen's Club", but it is far from it.  It features cheap liquor and Exotic (HA!) dancers.  The only exotic thing is (as Poppi would say) "they dance nekkid."  I'm glad, that since my name is associated with the place, that it is so far (about a thousand miles) from here. Whew!    (Hush Chiquita!  I can do without your snickering and razz-berries!  At least I'm not named after a fruit.  ahhh....ohhh... Don't cry. I'm sorry little girl.  I didn't mean it.)
I've got to run and take care of this.  My thoughtless lashing out has upset the little one.  All I can say to myself is "Bad Dog."
Hugs, Kisses, and Belly Rubs for all!   (Come here baby. Let me kiss those tears away.)

Friday

A new Friend! (I hope)

Poppi! We're trying to Sleep here!

Hallllooooo my lovelies!   Time for another dish from the Diva.  I've FINALLY gotten Poppi to sit still long enough to take a little dictation from Moi!   In his defense though, he's been a really busy guy the last month or so, putting out fires at work and taking care of all the tasks he wants and/or needs to around the house.  (Sooooo - Love ya Poppi!)
Annnnyyy-hooooo, last night we were visited by a very nice young lady (Shout-Out to you, Kim - girl!) who will (it appears) be sitting the Sisters and I when Mummi and Poppi go visting friends out of town in a week or so.  Kim came in the afternoon and chatted with Mummi for a while. Then Poppi came in after work (& grocery shopping) and invited Kim to stay and eat supper with the fam (Mummi, Poppi, and the "girls"). She did and it turned into a marathon chat fest (until late in the evening).  Mummi (Gawd Luv 'er!), just can't help herself sometimes.  I'm sure Kimmie knows more than she ever needed (or wanted ) to know about Mummi, Poppi, et. al.  Now, the smile never left Kim's face, but I not sure if she was actually entertained or approaching desperation at the need to escape, and was afraid to drop it.  In all fairness, Poppi did add a few bits here and there to the conversation - but I think that was just so Mummi could catch her breath.  (Heh! - I'm kidding, well some anyway.) :-)
Bottom line, Kim is a very nice lady, and even little sis, who is normally very skittish around new folks, warmed up to her.  So I think we will be just fine while the folks are travelling.
Hugs, Kisses, and Belly Rubs for all!

Monday

Boom! BooM! BOOM BOOM!

Make it STOP!
Hello All,
Welcome back from another dish from the Diva!  This past weekend Poppi tried to get out and mow the yard(s).  He knew that the ground was mostly a bit squishy and in some areas, downright swamp. (Take it from a girl with a low-slung chassis!)  But the grass and weeds was getting close to (Poppi's) waist high in places and, in his words, "He wanted to knock it back a bit."  He did so, only after promising Mummi that he would avoid the quagmires, and if he got stuck, he would quit. He would not hurt himself.
I'm happy to say he kept his word.  Mostly.  He did get stuck once, but it was near the very end and in our own ( of the 3 yards he cuts) yard.  I'm glad he did it too.  Much easier to take care of one's needs in a level yard.  Little Sis & I were in the house as he cut, but big Sis was having nothing of it.  When the mower started, she asked to be let out and headed up to Miss Sharon's to avoid the noise and any projectiles.  She doesn't like the mower.
Now, Little Sis doesn't like the "thunder-boomers".  We had stormy weather yesterday with lots of thunder.  The poor little thing was shaking like a leaf and always running to hide.  She preferred getting under the covers on Mummi's and Poppi's bed, but if the door was closed she would run under Mummi's computer desk.  Thunder went on most of the day and she would just shiver and cower and would not eat! (Can you imagine! Not wanting to eat!)
The bad news is, there are more expected tonight and tomorrow.  Chiquita's gonna have a rough time.  Hope she eats while the weather is quiet.  I'll do my best to console her.
Hugs, Kisses and Belly Rubs for All!

Tuesday

Everybody Wants to Rule the World!

Hi my precious ones!  This entry will take a little longer to type because for part of it I am requiring Poppi to be blindfolded and I will nose his finger to the correct key to press.  Poppi has said he will never censor me, but I want to be sure, and it will magnify the impact it has when he actually reads it for the first time.
(Poppi is now blindfolded and will remain so until this is posted.)
If you are intelligent, like moi, you got a little chuckle out of this picture.  I sincerely hope though, that all our two-legged friends just laugh it off. (As I'm sure Poppi and Mummi will.)  With a show of paws, lets see how many of you know who actually rules the civilized world.  Think about it.  Most of our days consist of sleeping, eating, running, and playing.  We even train our humans to throw sticks and balls for our benefit.  Not to mention the "treats".  Poppi has been trained to give us "girls" a treat every night at 9 o'clock.  We act all excited at the word, treat, but its all a show.  We EXPECT it.  And Mummi think she's SOOOO clever asking Poppi around that time, "Have you given them their special?"  Like we don't know that "special" is code for "treat". But we play dumb and let it slide off our backs.  Although I really had to emphasize the non-reaction will little sis Chiquita. (Belated Happy Birthday, Sweetums!)  Chiquita turned one year old on March 21st.  Such a cutie, and with time I will have her "Diva-fied", like moi.  Anyway, all you quadraped friend of mine, Keep up the charade.  Its a good life.  DON'T mess with it!        (Tears for Fears Song Link)
Hugs, kisses, and Belly Rubs for All!
